Start examination creates the examination and opens it, already filled in with the patient, the optometrist and the appointment. From here on, everything happens on this one screen. Examinations in progress are listed under Clinical Examinations; finished ones under Previous Exams.

The examination screen is a set of tabs. You can move between them freely — nothing is lost as you switch — and press Save once when you are done.

Patient History shows what was found last time: the previous chief complaint, refraction and clinical notes, CD ratios, posterior and IOL notes, and the family members linked to this patient. It is there to read, not to change.

Patient Card is why the patient came in. Ocular holds the eye health findings; the pupil-reflex block has a Copy OD → OS button, which fills the left eye to match the right. It only copies on screen, so you can still change the left eye afterwards if the eyes differ.

Refraction holds three tables that all behave the same way: Habitual Rx (what the patient wears now), Clinical Tests, and Final RX (the prescription you are giving them). To add a line press + Add Row and type straight into it; to remove one press Del. Nothing is written until you press Save.

Tick Disp. on the Final RX row you are dispensing. That tick is what creates the dispensing line and puts the pair on the Dispensing Sheet. A prescription with nothing ticked is a prescription only — perfectly normal if the patient is not buying today.

Contact Lenses repeats the same three tables for contact lenses, plus the lens specification. The Final CL RX rows each have a Fitting button, which is where contact lens dispensing is done.
